ChipIn vs Event Caddy
Event Caddy and ChipIn look the same on price. What does each one actually cost?
What Event Caddy's fees add up to on a real event, and what ChipIn charges instead.
The short answer
On the pricing page they look the same: Event Caddy Pro is $469 AUD per tournament, ChipIn is $449 per event. Event Caddy then adds fees on top. Every golfer pays $4.00 at checkout, auction purchases carry 2.5%, and a custom URL is $30. That $4 is paid by your supporters and never reaches your event. ChipIn charges one flat fee and nothing else: no per-golfer fee, no auction fee, and your own domain if you want one.
ChipIn is best for
Any event that wants to keep more of what it raises and run it on the most modern tools in the industry. One flat fee, nothing per golfer, nothing on the auction, with everything from registration questions to the leaderboard built for the phone in your golfers' hands.
Event Caddy is best for
Organizations running several tournaments a year that want them bundled under one Enterprise agreement.

“Factoring in efficiency and also just sheer volunteer labor, this is an absolute STEAL. I think it would be a value-add at double the price, truthfully.”
Questions.
Does ChipIn charge per golfer or on the auction?
No. One flat fee per event, currently $449, for any number of golfers, sponsors and bidders. Card processing goes to your own Stripe or PayPal account at their rates.
Can I try either before paying?
ChipIn's Practice Round is the whole product with test cards and test emails; you pay when you go live. Event Caddy's Free tier covers the website and registration; scoring, sponsor payments, auction and donations need Pro at $469 AUD.
Is Event Caddy cheaper than ChipIn?
The Free tier is $0 to the organization, and every golfer still pays $4.00 at checkout on every tier. On 144 golfers that is $576 paid by your supporters that does not reach your event.
