ChipIn vs BirdEase
BirdEase and ChipIn both charge $299 flat. Here is where they differ.
What you get for the same flat fee on each platform.
The short answer
BirdEase and ChipIn charge the same $299 per event with no fees on registrations or on what you raise, so price is not the deciding factor here. What is: ChipIn gives you a modern, mobile-first event site, charges auction winners the moment the auction closes and lets losing bidders pledge instead, lets you build and test the whole event free before you pay, and gives you more room to shape the event your way, from registration questions to the site itself. BirdEase has served charity golf since 2009 and its feature list is deep. ChipIn brings newer tooling to the same job, which your guests and sponsors will thank you for.
ChipIn is best for
Any event that wants to keep more of what it raises and run it on the most modern tools in the industry. The same flat fee, with everything from registration questions to the leaderboard built for the phone in your golfers' hands.
BirdEase is best for
Organizations that already run a merchant account with one of BirdEase's gateways, or that want the vendor with the longest track record in charity golf.

Questions.
Do BirdEase and ChipIn really cost the same?
Yes. Both are $299 per event with no per-registrant or percentage fees. Card processing on both is paid to your own account; ChipIn uses your Stripe or PayPal or ChipIn Pay, BirdEase uses its own processor or a merchant gateway you supply.
If the price is the same, why ChipIn?
The newer tooling, built by a team that spent a decade on high-volume reservation systems, at a fraction of what enterprise software costs. A mobile-first event site, Apple Pay and Google Pay at checkout through your own Stripe or PayPal, auction winners charged the moment the auction closes, registration questions that adapt to each answer, and one admin view for registrations, sponsors, bids, check-in and the ledger, so your committee spends its hours on the event instead of the spreadsheet. A Practice Round proves all of it before you pay.
How do auction winners pay?
On ChipIn, bidders save a card when they first bid and winners are charged automatically when the auction closes; losing bidders can pledge instead. On BirdEase, winners are emailed a link to pay on the event site.
